Reception is unlike any other year. It's the first. The very first time your child walked through school gates, sat in a classroom, and put their trust in someone who wasn't family. The bond between a reception child and their teacher is something parents watch happen, quietly, over the course of a year — and at the end of it, words often fail.
This book gives your child a way to say it anyway.
You order it on Amazon — it arrives in 1 to 4 business days. When it arrives, your child opens it and finds printed questions about their year: what they loved, what made them laugh, who they played with, what their teacher did that they'll always remember. At four or five years old, your child may not write every answer themselves — and that's completely fine.
A parent can sit beside them, ask each question out loud, and write exactly what the child says. Word for word. That's not cheating — that's the most genuine version of the gift. Your child's voice, on paper, in their own words, even if the handwriting belongs to you. And if they can manage a drawing, or a few letters, those go in too.
There's also a QR code. You film a short video of your child — a message, a smile, a "thank you Miss" — and upload it by scanning the code. No account needed. The teacher watches it by scanning theirs.
When the reception teacher opens this book and sees that a child — their child, for a whole year — sat down and tried to put their experience into words, something shifts. It becomes a keepsake they carry from school to school.
The book also includes lined pages and to-do pages for daily use. Videos are automatically deleted 7 days after first viewing, or 2 months if never viewed.
